Each research task requires the following annotation - a clear aim and a summary of the research findings

Task 5a) What is the aim (purpose or intention) of this research into 3 existing products?	Use the following words in your response	Your annotations
	conventions	my aim is to find out the conventions of an idents, what is needed to make a good ident. so i can add it to my own.
	distribution	my aim is to find out where to distribute my ident. this is so i can receive a large audience for my ident and the channel.
	platform	my aim is to find the best platform to distribute my ident. the reason for this is so i know what the best platform is to distribute my ident , so it can get a large amount of views and comments.

Task 5b) Summary - what did you find out from your research into 3 existing products?	Use the following words in your response	Your annotations
	quick cuts & beat editing	For my research I found that a lot of the idents used beat editing. This is so they can keep their audience engaged and entertained. Also because their audience  are mainly teenagers, the will need to use beat editing to keep them awake.
	Use of stop motion of CG animation	Most of these idents used a mixture of both digital and stop motion animation. This is one of the conventions of making an ident.
	use of close ups	The only close up that was used during all three videos was when the logo came on screen. However close ups were used to show other parts of the idents for example e4 ident showed a teddy bear walking across the room they used a close to show us that.
	lip synching or Branding of the channel	All of the three videos had a logo it was part of the conventions they must have a logo.
	narrative or story	None of the e4 idents had a narrative it was all just messy and entertaining.
	locations	They all had different locations. One was in a bedroom and everything in it came alive. The other was in a garage and stuff came out of the locked garage and lastly outside on the streets
	genres of music	They all seem to use very childish electronic instrumentals which is very unique to the channel.
	costume	Because the idents are animated they are no costumes involved excepted if there are people involved then you would need to dress them to appeal to your target.
